On 6 July, we were in front of the Ministry of Finance in Düsseldorf with over 100 TVStud activists from all over North Rhine-Westphalia.
The black-green coalition agreement states that there should be a collective agreement for student employees and we made it clear today that this must be implemented this autumn.
Unfortunately, the Minister of Finance didn’t have time and no one else from his team was prepared to accept our urgent letter in public. Only two people were allowed to hand over the letter, behind closed doors and without photos. During the conversation, it once again became clear how frighteningly little knowledge the people in the Ministry of Finance have of our situation. Poverty among students? Never heard of it. Hopefully reading the study will do a bit of educational work there. Otherwise, we’ll be happy to visit the ministry again in autumn and will be even more and even louder then!
